Aloria Weaver – http://www.lightweave.org/
Aloria studied the human form extensively and passionately for a number of years, then began exploring sacred geometry and pattern, and is subsequently working towards the integration of those elements. After exploring a variety of mediums, including metal casting, ceramic sculpture, photography, & printmaking, she dedicated herself to oil painting, and has been painting for well over a decade.
Aloria has shown her work in a multitude of prestigious locations in the US, including the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in Oregon, Alex Grey’s CoSM Gallery in NYC, Fenario Gallery in Oregon, and the Hive Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. Throughout Europe, Aloria’s artwork has been exhibited and sold in Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, and Holland.
Underlying all of Aloria’s work is a belief that the highest function of a human being is to love, and the highest function of Art is to point to the transcendental spiritual nature of human beings- our capacity for an evolved and integrated harmonious existence with all life. It is her belief that to assume the highest role of an artist is to work ceaselessly for the benefit of all living beings, to live from the heart. To this end, Aloria practices Ahimsa, the Yogic discipline of non-harming, and adheres to a peaceful and compassionate vegan lifestyle.
Born in upstate New York in 1979, Aloria apprenticed at the Buffalo Art Studios of Western New York, studied at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, SUNY at Buffalo, and the New York Institute of Massage. She relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 2005, and now resides in Portland, Oregon as she continues her diverse Healing Arts practice.
